Grilled Salmon with Herb Yogurt Sauce is a deliciously light and healthy dinner idea for warmer weather. I’ve been craving grilled fish now that the weather’s getting warmer. 260 calories/serving; 1 Freestyle Point/serving.
We have several good fish markets in our area so it’s easy to find good quality fresh fish. Although it’s usually more expensive than the supermarket, I trust the freshness and quality of the fish a lot more.
Recently, I bought a piece of salmon for dinner and noticed a container of Sauce Verte (“green sauce”) for sale. It was made with watercress, cilantro, scallion, mayonnaise and sour cream. When I asked what it supposed to be served with, the owner of the store suggested salmon, so rather than buy a container of this green sauce, I decided to make my own version, lightened up with yogurt, and freshened up with mint.
A lot of people are intimidated by the thought of cooking fish at home. I know I used to be one of them and would only eat fish at the restaurant. Once I realized how easy it was to cook fish at home, it is now one of the fastest dinners I can throw on the table. Grilled fish takes about 10 minutes to cook as does baked fish and steamed fish.
This Fresh Herb Yogurt Sauce is a nice way to make grilled salmon or any other fish stand out at dinner time. It’s fresh, light and creamy and easily serves as a salad dressing if you want to serve your grilled salmon on top of a salad. The salad pictured is simply watercress, mango and jicama.

This looks SO good. I never buy watercress, but will have to. I love a nice sauce with a simple salmon.

I love salmon cooked on the grill, and when I don’t want to fire up the grill, I use my panini press!

Im making this tonight and just realized the lime isn’t in the recipe! Do you squeeze that in with the yogurt? Thank you! Cant wait to try it!

Emily, I fixed the directions – thanks!

Thank you for posting such a delicious, and easy, recipe! I tried this last night and had to improvise by omitting the watercress (too lazy to pick it up at the store) and the juice of 1 whole lime (for consistency) and it was terrific. We used the sauce on baked, not grilled, salmon, but my husband and I loved it. This recipe will definitely be revisited! 🙂
