This Mango Batido is a refreshing, tropical drink that’s perfect for poolside or pretending you’re at the beach. Sweltering heat calls for a nice cold glass of fruity batido. I love mangos and buy them in bulk during the summer when they are their peak sweetness. My favorite mangoes are alphonso and champagne mangoes because they are extra sweet and have very little fiber. The seeds are thin so there’s more fruit that can be used.
Have you heard of The War Room? It’s a movie about the power of prayer, and how one woman helps another by sharing her personal life experiences and spiritual counsel to help another woman through her marital troubles. It left a real impact on me…why do women have to go through life experiencing the same problems other women go through, generation after generation? Why don’t women help each other and learn from each other. It sure would save us all a lot of time and pain.
One of the things I loved most about our Daniel Plan study was that we had women encouraging each other, not being naysayers, but building each other up, sharing personal experiences to help each other. I LOVE that!
Imagine how powerful it would be if we helped each other all the time, collaborated with each other, recognizing that each of us has different gifts and talents, so we’re not competing with each other; rather, we compliment each other. Just like a recipe – each ingredient on its own can do just so  much, but when combined together in a recipe, you can elevate each ingredient in the final dish.
I know I’m much better at encouraging people I know than people I don’t know. Why is that? Our human nature is to be suspicious, less trusting of people we don’t know. We put our guard up, and it takes time to break that down. Trust takes a long time to develop. I’m not saying we should be naive and assume everyone has our best interests at heart, but what if…what if we gave people the benefit of the doubt and believed they wanted to help us more times than we suspected they were just trying to push their own agenda for self-gain?
Just food for thought.
