Start off your day with this refreshing Brazilian Acai Breakfast Bowl. Packed with antioxidants from the acai fruit and berries, it’s not only nutritious but delicious. Great for pre-workouts too.
A few weeks ago, we celebrated one of the twin’s graduation at a Brazilian family’s home. Our sons have been good friends throughout high school, and they’ve hosted a group of boys at their home for Brazilian barbecues over the years. At the graduation celebration, all the families were treated to an authentic Brazilian barbecue. What a treat!
I’m not familiar with Brazilian food other than the few times I’ve eaten at a local Brazilian joint that serves a casual lunch buffet. This past weekend, we decided to host our own Brazilian barbecue for the youth church group. While shopping for some of the ingredients at the Brazilian market, I spotted a poster on the wall advertising their Acai Bowl. It’s like a smoothie in a bowl, topped with fruit and granola.
Acai is a superfruit, packed with antioxidants, so it’s a great addition to any smoothie. Acai comes frozen in packs of four. Each pouch is 100 grams, so making an Acai Breakfast Bowl is easy. The gal at the shop told me how to make this. You can top the Acai Breakfast Bowl with any of your favorite fruits – bananas and berries are popular toppings as is granola and coconut.
I served this to my husband the other day, and at first he gave me a skeptical look, but he ate the whole bowl and told me it was delicious. I have to agree – this Brazilian Acai Breakfast Bowl is not only refreshing but energizing.

Jeanette, so glad you posted this recipe. It brings me good memories from my childhood in Brazil. I love açaí and it is huge in Brazil. Everywhere you go you can have a bowl like that! People just love it. Now, living in Canada is difficult to find açaí berries, but when I find them, I always bring home and make my homemade açaí. Yours looks very delicious 😉
