It’s officially Spring and it couldn’t have come any sooner here in the Northeast. We’re still having some chilly weather, but just knowing that it’s Spring has gotten me psyched about being outdoors a lot more.
I love the sunshine…I love the daffodils and crocuses that start peeking out of the soil…I love walking outdoors, watching my son’s high school baseball games and catching up with friends I haven’t seen all winter.
For me, living a healthier life includes eating healthier and exercising more consistently. However, I’ve learned that having a positive, upbeat attitude is just as important. Having a positive attitude not only helps me see challenges in a different light many times, but can often have an unexpected affect on those around me.
For me, living a healthier life includes eating healthier and exercising more consistently. However, I’ve learned that having a positive, upbeat attitude is just as important. Having a positive attitude not only helps me see challenges in a different light many times, but can often have an unexpected affect on those around me.
There are a couple of things that can easily put me in a better mood to start my day. Just putting on a colorful top or a pair of fun shoes can start my day off on a bright note. I’m all about comfort, so most days, you’ll find me running around in black yoga pants or jeans. So, by just throwing on a colorful top and a pair of fun shoes, I can add a little style to my no-fuss look and get out the door.
Recently, Reebok sent me a pair of hot pink SkyScape Runaround walking shoes to try. I couldn’t wait to see if these colorful sneakers might put a little extra spunk into my step. It’s funny how something as simple as a pair of snazzy sneakers can add not just a little style to everyday comfort, but put a smile on my face and others.
I’ve been wearing my little pink sneakers all around town this past week, running errands (I crammed a run to Costco’s, Home Goods, Sports Authority and the supermarket into 2 hours), walking around the high school track between pick-up times, and strolling through our neighborhood one sunny day (that’s where I found all those pretty little flowers starting to blossom).
I even snuck in a few minutes outside to check out one of my new cookbooks when it was nice and hit the high 60’s the other day.
Whether I’ve worn these snazzy pink shoes with yoga pants or jeans, I’ve gotten all sorts of compliments, especially from the baseball moms. I actually took one of my shoes off at one of the baseball games and let them pass it around to see just how light they are. Everyone loved the look and feel of the shoes, including the rubber accents on the bottom of the shoes.
The SkyScape Runarounds come in all sorts of fun colors, including pink fusion (the ones I got), purple, black with pink soles, and blue, but you can actually design your own SkyScape sneaker online with all different colors for the shoe uppers, bottoms, eyelets and laces. If you’re feeling a little more daring, you can design a pair of pink leopard, purple atmospheric, or blue camo shoes.
I have to say, with all the running around I’ve been doing this Spring, these sneakers are so light (weighing just 5 ounces) and super comfortable, I barely felt like I was wearing shoes. An extra bonus is that they’re machine washable. I’m definitely packing these in my suitcase next time I head out of town.

Lisa – these are actually machine washable too – I brought them in my bag this weekend for a college trip – so glad I did so I could switch out of my other shoes for more comfortable walking shoes.
