If you’re new to a gluten-free lifestyle, it can be intimidating at first – not knowing what you can eat, whether you’re trying to figure out what to eat for breakfast, packing lunch for your child, traveling or eating out with friends.
This week, I hosted my first Gluten-Free Google+ hangout What Does Gluten-Free Mean To You where a group of talented gluten-free bloggers shared some tips and their experiences living a gluten-free lifestyle. If you didn’t have a chance to join us, you can check out our discussion on You Tube.
Here’s who participated on our panel:
Lexie from Lexie’s Kitchen (Gluten/Dairy/Egg Free; avoids soy and artificial anything. Uses natural sweeteners in moderation)
EA from The Spicy RD (Gluten-Free)
Carolyn from All Day I Dream About Food (Gluten-Free; Low Carb)
Jane from The Heritage Cook (Gluten-Free; provides substitutions for other allergens)
Sarah from Sarah Bakes Gluten-Free Treats (Gluten-Free; many recipes are also Egg/Dairy Free and Vegan)
I’m planning on hosting more Gluten-Free Google Plus Hangouts (including a series on gluten-free baking) in the near future, so stay posted.

Just watched the video. I’ve been eating gluten free for a year now, just discovered it’s part of a larger problem, candida. 2012, the year I gave up gluten. 2013, the year I’m giving up sugar. The video gave me a sense of community, I’m not alone in dealing with food sensitivities. Thanks to all who shared tips and to you for this post with all the links and for the hang out. What a great idea!

Hi Valerie, so glad the video helped you realize there is a larger community of people with food sensitivities. It’s funny, but the more I talk to people, the more I learn that there are so many people with some sort of food sensitivity. We’re planning on having more videos to discuss gluten-free food/cooking so I hope you’ll check back.

What a great collection of gluten-free recipes. I was diagnosed with Celiac about 2 years ago and still struggling to find decent things to eat for breakfast. Thanks for the resources.

Going gluten-free in the beginning was tough for my son, but as I reached out, I found a huge and friendly community that were gluten-free as well. Fortunately, there are so many gluten-free products and resources available. Thanks for stopping by – hope you’re come back for more.
