The Holy Spirit is Inside of You

The Holy Spirit Is Inside of You

What or who is the Holy Spirit? I think this is a confusing question for many Christians, because while we know the Holy Spirit is a part of the divine Trinity, we rarely ever focus on the Holy Spirit. We hear and learn all about God and Jesus, but it is rare that you go to church and hear a sermon about the Holy Spirit. He/She/It is almost like the forgotten third wheel. However, that doesn’t make the Holy Spirit any less important.

While I am no expert on the Holy Spirit by any means, because I myself have never been taught extensively on the subject, I would still like to share with you all who the Holy Spirit is to me. To me, The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God and Jesus that lives in us. The Holy Spirit is God’s presence within us – yes, even you. And it is through the Holy Spirit that God works through us.

We are all broken, weak, and limited human beings. We often fall short of righteousness and goodness, and are even capable of doing great evils. We can also feel completely and utterly powerless at times. Even when we desire to help others, we feel like we don’t have the strength or the energy or the resources to do so. This is the human part of us. And this is a very real part of us.

At the same time, this is not all of us. I believe we all have the Holy Spirit inside of us, who gives us strength when we are weak, power when we have none, and energy when we are drained of it all. The Holy Spirit is what makes what we can do limitless even though we are limited. The Holy Spirit is the being inside of you that God uses to perform miraculous acts of love, service, kindness, and grace.

So, don’t ever tell yourself that you can’t do something. Don’t let your past mistakes or failures weigh down your belief in yourself and what you are capable of. Because with the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you, anything is possible. God is going to use the Holy Spirit to do things through you beyond your imagination where you are going to think to yourself, “Did I just do that?”. Yes, yes you did, with the help of God.

If you would like to learn more about the Holy Spirit, check out this video by The Bible Project here. As always, please feel free to reach out to me for feedback, questions, or anything else. I’m happy to chat about anything and everything. I hope you could take away something helpful from this post. You can reach me at thewayvylife@gmail.com!
