There’s a lot of hype around “Superfoods” lately. So what are Superfoods anyway?
Basically, Superfoods are naturally occurring foods rich in nutrients and phytochemicals, which are believed to help fight disease, including cancer.

Cancer-Fighting Superfoods include:
- Beans (Black Beans, Kidney Beans, Pinto Beans, Lentils)
- Nuts and Seeds (Walnuts, Almonds, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds)
- Garlic and Onions
- Berries (Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries)
- Cruciferous Veggies (Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts)
- Dark Leafy Greens (Spinach, Kale, Collard Greens, Romaine Lettuce)
- Citrus Fruits (Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruits)
- Tomatoes
- Tea (green or black)
It’s important to eat a wide variety of Superfoods to get the most benefit since there are thousands of phytochemicals, and each Superfood contains lots of different phytochemicals (note: supplements do not provide the same benefit so stick to whole foods). Here’s a quick yummy salad that tosses together a bunch of Superfoods.
