Each Summer, I look forward to the opening of the New Canaan Farmer’s Market. Not only is it fun to see all the old timers again, but it’s always exciting to see all the new vendors.

Riverbank Farm, which sells organic produce and prepared foods, can be found at the market every week
You can’t get any fresher than this.

Our farmer’s market has grown over the years, and the selection is pretty amazing. From fresh produce to baked goods (including some gluten-free) to teas to meat products, we have access to a wide variety of local products.
Market Master Lexi Gazy has done an incredible job expanding the number of vendors and the products offered each Saturday (through November 23, 2013) between 10AM and 2PM in the Center School Parking Lot in downtown New Canaan, Connecticut.
Some vendors come weekly (the ones that have been around for a while), and the newer ones operate on a rotating schedule (every other week, or monthly), so I try to stop by each Saturday to check out all the vendors.
There’s always a long line by Gazy Brother’s Farm stand, one of the original vendors
This year, we have a new vendor offering gluten-free sweet treats ~ Nicole from With Love From The Cupboard.
Not only did she have these gluten-free Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes for sale, but she also brought macaroons and gluten-free parfait shooters.

I love seeing young entrepreneurs at the market ~ Will Kelly and his Dad represented their family business, Kelly’s Four Plus, which sells a variety of granolas, including Nutty, Vanilla Almond, Apple Cinnamon and Cherry Chocolate.

The kids were on hand to help out at Carrot Top Kitchens‘ stand, where hummus and pickles were featured.

Lucy is one of the youngest vendors at the market this year, selling her homemade body scrubs made with all natural ingredients.
Andre and Steven of Savor Fine Foods couldn’t stop passing out samples of their artisan, gourmet cookies, both savory and sweet.
The Smoked Red Onion and Roasted Leek are my favorite savory flavors.
I am thrilled to see Wave Hill Breads at the market this year. I’ve known the founder and co-owner, Margaret Sapir, since she first started baking her signature crusty and chewy French Pain de Campagne in 2005. Wave Hill Breads now offers an assortment of breads (including whole grain varieties) and pastries, and operates a bakery cafe nearby.
Simply Delicious is also new to the market this year, offering a variety of chips (including sweet potato and kale chips), salsas, dips, chili and soup.
Mark and Christine from Homegrown Harvest had a display of gardening options. They offer home garden services, including installation of raised beds, custom container gardens, and tower gardens.
Finally, my favorite radio station, K-LOVE, will be visiting throughout the summer.
If you’re ever in Fairfield County, Connecticut on a Saturday, be sure to check out the New Canaan Farmer’s Market. I’m looking forward to seeing these vendors and more throughout the summer!
Oh wow, what a gorgeous market! Thanks for taking us on a tour, Jeanette!
Thanks Georgia – our farmer’s market has made huge strides over the past several years. I’m so excited to see the expansion of vendors and their offerings!
