This easy and inexpensive way of pitting cherries with a chopstick is a trick that’s good to have in your back pocket when cherries are at their peak.

Have you ever wondered how to pit cherries without a cherry pitter? Well, recently, I made Healthy Fruit Punch Popsicles with fresh cherries and needed some pitted cherries. Although I have a lot of kitchen gadgets, one of the few I don’t own is a cherry pitter. But, a few years ago, I learned a trick. You can use a chopstick to pit cherries. Dirt cheap and easy, albeit a little messy. Use disposable kitchen gloves if you’re worried about getting cherry stained hands.

Here’s a quick video to show you hot to pit cherries with a chopstick. Next time you take out Chinese food, just save a pair of chopsticks.
