Skinny Hot Spinach Dip with Chips

Today, I’m participating in my very first Google+ Hangout! I’ve been a passive participant a few times, watching others in their hangouts, but I’ve never actually been an active participant in a Google+ hangout, so when my friend Lexie from Lexie’s Kitchen asked if I’d join her and few other ladies, I said sure! The topic for today is Surviving Thanksgiving Day with a House Full of Kids.

I’ll be sharing some Afternoon Kid Snack and Appetizer Recipe Ideas, and the other ladies will be sharing Thanksgiving Day crafts, The Kid’s Table (setting, decorating), and Morning Kid Snack and Appetizers.

Check out our hangout, Thanksgiving Day Survival Tactics with Lexie’s Kitchen, on YouTube.

On Thanksgiving Day, it’s a tradition in our house for my boys and hubby to watch football before we sit down for our Thanksgiving feast. I’ve gotten better about prepping ahead the night before so I don’t spend the entire day cooking and baking, but it always helps to have something for the boys to snack on while I’m getting our Thanksgiving meal ready.

Quick hearty dips are a great way to keep everyone happy until we sit down for our Thanksgiving meal. My kids (and hubby) love football snacks so I’ve come up with some healthier versions of some classics over the last couple of years.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

When I originally tried making this popular dip healthier, I made a blue cheese dressing to layer on top of this dip. To make this recipe even easier, I left out the blue cheese dressing and simply crumbled some blue cheese on top of the strained Greek yogurt – so easy!

  1. Seeing as how my boyfriend has the palate of a child…I am SO making these for him!! Especially while he watches football. At least then I know he’s eating something good for him!

  2. We must all be kids at heart, because I don’t know any adults that could resist these either :)

  3. How about a simple Minted Raita with crisps(chips for the US), nacho or poppodom?
Light on the stomach so that when the main meal comes it gets devoured

  4. These all look really good and would go over really well for my boys during football (or anytime!)

  5. Buffalo Chicken Wing DIP! OH MY!?! I.Want!
I have been wanting to join a Google+ hang out for so long, but I can’t find the time… baby and all… :)

  6. Or 5 picky-husband dip recipes?! Haha – The hot black bean salsa dip looks great!

  7. I am always looking for healthy kids recipes- thanks!

  8. I used to give my kids some pumpkin pie with warm cranberries while the turkey is in the oven. I know it’s a sweet thing, but pumpkin and cranberries are healthy, too.
I think Google hangouts are becoming the next new thing. It’s a great way to connect with other bloggers.
